Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held from Dec. 4th through Dec. 8th in our beautiful Linus Pauling Library. Last year's fair was a huge success. We sold over $1200 worth of books and merchandise, which means our library received $600 in Scholastic books! Many thanks to all the parents who volunteered to help out at the book fair. We couldn’t have done it without your help. And we hope to have it again this year.
Kristy Kemper-Hodge, the wonderful youth librarian at the Corvallis Public Library, will visit LPMS on Wed. Nov. 8th for a book discussion on The War That saved My Life By Kimberly Brubaker Bradley from this year’s Oregon Battle of the Books selections. Kristy will be in the purple area of the library during lunch time/outdoor rec. Please encourage your children to attend. They do not need to be members of an OBOB team and Kristy is very engaging. The conversations often lead to other great books. On Dec. 13th we will discuss Rebel Mechanics by Shanna Swendson and on January 17th we'll discuss Kalahari by Jessica Khoury.
Speaking of OBOB our school competition we already have six teams registered for next February's competition.
